5. FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM AND MESSENGER ENQUIRIES
When you respond to a Sober Lane advertisement or automated chat, Meta may provide us
with the information you enter, such as your name, email address, telephone number and
answers to booking questions. We use that information to respond to your request and,

Facebook, Instagram and Messenger are operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Meta
processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control Meta’s
separate use of your information.
We will not add you to a general marketing list solely because you made an enquiry. We will

informed; and
• public authorities, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area.
Where this occurs, we use providers and safeguards intended to protect the information in
accordance with applicable data-protection law, such as adequacy decisions or approved
contractual protections.
7. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for
which it was collected. Our usual retention periods are:
• enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months after the last contact;
• booking, payment and transaction records: generally up to six years, or longer where
required by law or needed for a legal claim;
• marketing contact details: until consent is withdrawn or the information is no longer needed,
with inactive records reviewed regularly; and
• website and security records: for a limited period appropriate to their purpose.
We may retain information for longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal
claims or meet a legal obligation.
